We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Trevor's family. The kids had fun making ginger bread houses and Christmas ornaments for their Christmas trees. The boys loved spending the day playing with their cousins at Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's house.
Thanksgiving night we drove over the mountain to Grandma and Grandpa Scow's house so we could go Christmas tree hunting with everyone in the morning. I love that everyone gets together to go Christmas tree hunting it makes it so much fun for everyone. We split up looking for trees most of the kids went with Grandma and Grandpa. Trev, Korbin, and I went with Tiff, Dal, and Kaejha. Grandma Scow ended up finding our Christmas tree. We then had hot chocolate and doughnuts that my Mom brought. On the way back to my parents house I told Trevor a story about my Mom when she was a little girl. I guess my Mom's Dad Bruce Gordon like to cut a pretty Christmas tree every year for Christmas (maybe that is why my Mom is the same way). One year Bruce and a friend of his were drunk one night and decided to go cut the top of pine tree off in a city park. In the newspaper that Christmas there was a reward offered for whoever knew who cut the top of the tree in the city park. My Mom said anyone that came to their house commented on how beautiful their tree was and her Dad had a outrageous story of how he climbed to the top of a mountain in the snow to cut it down. Needless to say when we got back to the house Trev had to give my Mom a hard time about how cutting Christmas trees down in city parks were not above her standards to get a prefect Christmas tree.
